Let’s take a quick trip back to April 25, 1996, when Foo Fighters delivered an electrifying live set at the Virgin Megastore in New York City. This performance came barely a year after the release of their self-titled debut album, which dropped in July 1995. At this point in their career, the band was still navigating the rock scene, building a name that would soon explode. This intimate gig captured the raw energy and passion that were signature to their early days. Fans were treated to a mix of tracks, including “This Is A Call” and “I'll Stick Around”—songs that both defined their sound and showcased Dave Grohl's incredible songwriting. Fun fact: Dave, coming off the immense success with Nirvana, was still getting comfortable with being the frontman of his own project. It’s not everyday you see a band on the brink of a major breakthrough, and the palpable excitement in the air during this performance was a testament to the magic of those early years.
