The Police

In the summer of 1982, The Police were riding high following the release of their fifth studio album, "Ghost in the Machine," which had come out just a year earlier. This album showcased a shift towards more complex themes and a diverse sound, blending rock with reggae and punk elements. The performance captured in Gateshead on July 31, 1982, is a thrilling representation of the band's peak power and charisma during their tour. One particularly interesting fact is that this was the band’s first tour without their founding member, guitarist Andy Summers, who joined just before the recording.
