The Police

In November 1979, The Police were riding high on the success of their second album, 'Reggatta de Blanc,' which had been released just a couple of months prior in October. This album featured hits like 'Message in a Bottle' and solidified their reputation as a formidable force in the music scene. By the time of the Rockpalast recording, they were known for their energetic performances and innovative blend of rock and reggae. Interestingly, this live performance took place during a pivotal moment in their career, just before 'Zenyatta Mondatta' would elevate them to even greater heights in 1980.
