Red Hot Chili Peppers

Back in August 2002, when the Red Hot Chili Peppers played that VH1 special in Las Vegas, they were riding high on the waves of their album "By the Way," which had dropped just a few months earlier, in July of that year. This album marked a significant evolution in their sound, with a more melodic and introspective approach compared to their earlier, funkier jams. Interestingly, during this time, the band was also reflecting on their journey—having come through some rough patches, including the tragic passing of guitarist John Frusciante, who had been an integral part of their DNA.
