Pixies

In March 2007, when Pixies took the stage at the V Festival in Sydney, they were riding a remarkable wave of resurgence. Just a few years prior, the band's reunion in 2004 had reignited their fanbase and brought them back into the spotlight after a decade-long hiatus. By this time, they had released *Sell Out* in 2005, a collection that served as a bittersweet reminder of their eclectic sound and influential role within alternative rock. Interestingly, although *Sell Out* was less about new material and more a retrospective, it set the stage for their renewed performances that showcased their classics like "Where Is My Mind?". So, while the live recording captures the vibrant energy of their set, it’s also nestled in a pivotal era where nostalgia met a revitalized Pixies spirit. The atmosphere at Centennial Park buzzed with excitement, echoing their impact and the deep connection they fostered with fans old and new.
