Pixies

Before the live recording of "Here Comes Your Man" at Den Atelier in Luxembourg on August 23, 2022, the Pixies had just released their album *Doggerel* in September 2022. This album marked a notable return for the band, following their mid-era revival phase, which had started with *Indie Cindy* in 2014 and continued with *Head Carrier* in 2016. *Doggerel*, interestingly enough, showcased the band's matured sound blending their signature dynamic shifts with a thoughtful lyrical depth, a bit of a reflective evolution from the earlier, raw sound of their '80s classics. What's exciting about this performance is the palpable energy in the room, the crowd completely vibing with the band's iconic tunes, especially for a song like "Here Comes Your Man," which contrasts softer melodies with those famous, punchy Pixies riffs. After years apart and several lineup changes, the band demonstrated their lasting impact on alt-rock, proving they still know how to wow an audience. It’s heartening to see that even decades after their debut, Pixies can still unleash that electric atmosphere and connect with fans both old and new.
