In September 2010, when the Pixies performed "Weird at My School" live at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas, they were buzzing with renewed energy after a significant reunion tour. By that time, they had dropped their EP "Pixies" in 2004, and their most recent studio album, "Indie Cindy," would follow in 2014. This era marked a fascinating turn in their career, as they embraced both nostalgia and contemporary sound. Their live shows during this period were electrifying, drawing fans old and new, eager to experience the raw essence of their beloved tracks. Interestingly, "Weird at My School" wasn't originally part of their early hits but became a staple in their live performance repertoire, showcasing their playful quirkiness that has always set them apart in the alt-rock scene. About a year after this recording, they would officially release more new material, giving longtime fans a taste of their signature style reimagined for a new generation.
