In April 2011, at the Ottawa Civic Centre, the Pixies were riding high on the wave of nostalgia as they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, "Doolittle." This live performance, captured in what the fans fondly refer to as a bootleg, allowed the band to showcase a setlist bursting with the energetic sounds that defined an era—thrumming guitar riffs and cryptic lyrics that fans have cherished for decades. Just before this show, they had released "Indie Cindy" in 2014, marking their first studio album in nearly 23 years. Interestingly, the Doolittle Anniversary tour not only revisited the past but also reignited a flame that established the Pixies as pivotal players in the '90s alt-rock scene. It’s amazing how even a casual recording, once stripped of studio polish, can capture that raw energy and connection between the band and the audience, right?
