By this time, though, they had put out “Indie Cindy” in 2014, their comeback studio album after a lengthy hiatus, which marked a significant return to form. Interestingly, “Manta Ray,” the song showcased in this live recording, was part of their earlier work, specifically performed during the tours to promote the "wave of new material and nostalgia for the classics.” This gig featured the raw energy and iconic sound the Pixies are known for—blending punk rock's attitude with a sprinkle of surrealism.
