Pixies

In July 2016, when Pixies delivered their electrifying performance of "Classic Masher" at NOS Alive, they were riding high on the wave of their latest album, *Head Carrier*, which was released just about nine months prior, in September 2016. This marked a significant moment for the band since *Head Carrier* was their first studio album to feature bassist Paz Lenchantin, following the departure of Kim Deal. The shift in lineup infused a fresh energy into their sound, which is palpable in their live performances. Interestingly, Pixies have maintained a loyal fanbase, largely due to their unique blend of punk rock and surreal lyrics. At the NOS Alive festival, which is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and impressive lineup, the band showcased their signature style, turning heads and igniting nostalgia among long-time fans while simultaneously introducing newer audiences to their eclectic charm. What a thrill it must've been to witness that mix of old and new!
