Pixies Perform Um Chagga Lagga Live at NOS Alive in Oeiras, Portugal
In July 2016, during an electrifying set at the NOS Alive festival in Portugal, Pixies showcased their vibrant energy by performing "Um Chagga Lagga," a fresh track off their then-upcoming album, *Head Carrier*. This live recording marked a pivotal moment for the band, as *Head Carrier* would officially drop just a few months later, in September. It was particularly noteworthy because it represented a continued evolution of their sound following the reformation of the group in 2004, after a nearly 12-year hiatus. The frontman Black Francis and his bandmates had begun to explore new musical landscapes while still retaining their iconic blend of alternative rock and punk influences. The buzz around their live performances and the experimental work they're known for, always hint at a unique chemistry that truly intensifies in concert settings. How fitting that a festival crowd got to experience the fresh energy of new songs alongside their beloved classics!
