Pixies

In 2017, when the Pixies took the stage at the Positivus Festival in Latvia, they were basking in the revival of their career, having released their album "Head Carrier" the previous year. This album marked a significant point for them, as it was their first full studio release since reuniting after a lengthy hiatus that began in 1993. The energy they brought to the live performance of "Rock Music" certainly showcased their evolution while still embracing the signature sound that first garnered them iconic status in the alternative rock scene. Interestingly, the Pixies are often credited with influencing a myriad of bands, from Nirvana to Radiohead, propelling them into post-punk fame. So, as they played in Salacgriva, you could feel the weight of their legacy mixing with the fresh vigor of their new material—proof that sometimes, artists can come back even stronger.
