Deep Purple

Just before this performance, Deep Purple had released 'Who Do We Think We Are?' in 1973, which marked a notable evolution in their sound. However, by the time of this 1977 show, the band had gone through significant lineup changes and creative turmoil, leading Gillan to embark on a new chapter with his own project. Interestingly, the live recording captures Gillan’s energetic stage presence, illustrating his seamless transition from Deep Purple's hard rock anthem to a more improvisational jazz-blues approach with his band.
