Deep Purple Live at Olympia - When A Blind Man Cries Performance
In June 1996, Deep Purple performed at the Sport- und Kongresshalle in Schwerin, Germany, during their extensive Purpendicular tour. This live recording came shortly after the release of their 1996 album, 'Purpendicular,' which was the first to feature guitarist Steve Morse, replacing longtime member Ritchie Blackmore. The album marked a bold new chapter for the band and showcased a fresh sound infused with Morse's distinctive guitar style. Interestingly, 'When A Blind Man Cries,' originally included in their 1972 album 'Who Do We Think We Are,' was performed during this gig, demonstrating the band's ability to blend classic hits with new material. Deep Purple's dynamic energy and stage presence were particularly noteworthy, solidifying their reputation as one of the top hard rock bands in history.
