Deep Purple

In July 2006, Deep Purple took to the stage at the prestigious Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux, Switzerland, a venue steeped in musical history known for its related festival. This live performance was part of their illustrious career that had spanned several decades. Before this show, they had released the album 'Bananas' in 2003, marking a notable era as it was their first album with guitarist Steve Morse. The band was riding high on nostalgia and their iconic status in rock. Interestingly, it was at Montreux in 1971 that they famously recorded 'Smoke on the Water', stemming from an incident involving a fire at a casino. Fast forward to 2006, and the energy in their performance remained palpable, showcasing their classic hits along with newer material, proving that Deep Purple was still a formidable force in rock music.
