Deep Purple

On July 16, 2011, Deep Purple performed 'Space Truckin'' live at the Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux, showcasing their signature blend of hard rock and orchestral flair backed by a full symphony orchestra. This performance comes in the midst of their long, illustrious career, which started all the way back in the late 1960s. Just prior to this concert, the band had released the studio album 'Now What?!' in 2013, marking a notable return to form after a period of line-up changes and evolution in sound. Interestingly, Deep Purple has a strong connection to Montreux; the venue and the famous fire that destroyed the casino inspired the classic 'Smoke on the Water.' This live recording encapsulates the band's enduring legacy while highlighting their adventurous spirit, continuing to push boundaries well into the 21st century.
