Journey

In the summer of 1977, Journey was exploring their sound just before a major transformation with the eventual addition of Steve Perry. This live recording from the Diamond Head State Monument in Honolulu captures the band during a pivotal moment in their career, shortly before the release of their album "Next", which came out the same year. It was a period marked by searching for their identity, with Robert Fleischman as the lead vocalist at this time. Interestingly, this performance is just a glimpse into the band's burgeoning presence in the rock scene, as they would soon blow the roof off with Perry's powerful vocals. They were about to embark on a journey—not just the band, but the sound that would define rock music for years to come.
