In September 2017, Journey performed live at Budokan in Tokyo, showcasing their classic hit "Separate Ways." At this stage in their career, the band had just released their twelfth studio album, "Eclipse," in 2011, and were riding the wave of renewed popularity. Their 2017 tour celebrated their landmark albums "Escape" (1981) and "Frontiers" (1983), which were pivotal in establishing them as a leading arena rock band. Interestingly, Journey's original lead vocalist, Steve Perry, had departed in the late '90s, but the band found revitalization with Arnel Pineda, who joined in 2007 after being discovered on YouTube. Their live performances, like this one, blend classic tracks with high-energy shows, illustrating the band's enduring legacy and appeal across generations.
