Interpol

In October 2011, when Interpol performed live at Sziget in Budapest, they were riding high on the success of their self-titled album, released earlier that same year. This marked a significant comeback after a three-year hiatus, following ‘Interpol’ which showcased a more mature, introspective sound contrasting their earlier work. The live recording captures the band’s evolution, both musically and in their stage presence, hinting at their ability to weave nostalgia and newness into their performances. Interestingly, this year also marked their first performance without bassist Carlos Dengler, who had departed before the recording, adding an element of transition for the band. Fans were treated to a selection of tracks that showcased their signature post-punk revival sound, ensuring the energy at Sziget was palpable.
