Interpol Live at Foro SoL: Performance of Lights
In March 2015, Interpol brought their moody, atmospheric sound to the Foro Sol in Mexico City during the Vive Latino festival, shortly after the release of their fifth studio album, 'El Pintor,' which came out in 2014. This album marked a significant return for the band, showcasing a blend of their signature post-punk revival style while also experimenting with new textures. The live performance was a celebration of their resilience, as 'El Pintor' was their first album released after the departure of founding member Carlos Dengler. In a way, this performance symbolized a rebirth, as they embraced their evolving sound and revitalized energy. Additionally, it’s interesting to note that the band had a dedicated fan base in Mexico, making this show a particularly electric experience as they connected with the crowd through beloved tracks, both new and old.
