In August 2009, MGMT performed "Electric Feel" at the Dockville Festival in Hamburg, Germany, showcasing their vibrant energy and unique sound. This live recording came shortly after the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, "Oracular Spectacular," which debuted in 2007 and catapulted them into the mainstream. Hits from this album, like "Time to Pretend" and "Kids," had already established their psychedelic pop style. By 2009, they were riding high on this success, garnering a dedicated fan base and significant media attention. Interestingly, during this time, they were working on their follow-up album, "Congratulations," which would take their sound in a more experimental direction. This performance captures the essence of a band at a pivotal moment, blending catchy tunes with a hint of the artistic evolution that was just around the corner.
