In July 2017, MGMT performed live at the Panorama Music Festival on Randall's Island in New York. This concert came shortly after the band released their third studio album, "Little Dark Age," in February 2018. Although the album officially dropped a few months later, the band's performance at Panorama was a significant moment as it showcased their evolution, blending the eclectic sounds of their debut with the darker, more introspective tones of their newer material. Interestingly, this performance re-established MGMT's presence in the indie pop scene, as they had taken a creative hiatus after their 2013 self-titled album. The energy of the crowd was palpable, reflecting a renewed excitement for their music and a commitment to exploring fresh, innovative sounds.
