In June 1995, when Low performed live at Atomic Records in Milwaukee, they were at a significant point in their career, having recently released their debut album, "I Could Live in Hope," in 1994. This album established them as a pivotal act in the slowcore genre, known for their minimalist instrumentation and haunting harmonies. During this performance, they played a cover of "Jack Smith" by Supreme Dicks alongside their own song "Drag," showcasing their eclectic influences and the fluidity of their creative expression. Notably, this live recording occurred on the same day they were scheduled to perform at another venue, The Unicorn, later that evening, competing with the band Mudhoney—a testament to their growing popularity and the vibrant music scene of the time. The choice of venue, Atomic Records—a notable indie music store—also reflects their roots in the underground music community.
