Portugal. The Man
Portugal. The Man live performance of People Say at Music Hall of Williamsburg
In April 2012, Portugal. The Man was ramping up their career momentum with the release of their album "In the Mountains in the Clouds," which had come out just weeks before this live recording. This album was significant as it marked a turning point for the band, introducing a more refined sound that would lead them to greater visibility in the music scene. Performing "People Say" live at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, the band showcased their unique blend of rock and psychedelic influences, making the most of the energetic atmosphere. An interesting tidbit is that this song, in particular, touches on themes of social consciousness, a recurring motif in their work. Just two years later, they'd hit mainstream success with "Feel It Still," but at this point, they were still firmly establishing their identity on stage and in the studio.
