In May 2017, Warpaint delivered an electrifying performance at the Piqniq Festival in Tinley Park, IL, shortly after the release of their third studio album, 'Heads Up'. This album, released in September 2016, marked a significant evolution in their sound, showcasing a more pop-oriented vibe while still retaining their iconic dreamy quality. The band was in a transitional phase, exploring new textures and themes, which made their live show even more compelling. It's interesting to note that 'Heads Up' was the first album recorded after the departure of bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg's hiatus, allowing the group to experiment freely. Knowing that this performance was captured just a few months after the album's release makes it an exciting reflection of their artistic journey during that period.
