10000 Maniacs

In April 1993, 10,000 Maniacs made a notable appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' performing their hit 'Candy Everybody Wants.' This live performance came shortly after the release of their album 'Our Time in Eden,' which had hit the shelves just a few months prior, in March 1992. This album marked a significant moment for the band as it was their first release since their major label debut. 'Our Time in Eden' not only featured more polished production but also showcased the band's evolution in sound, blending folk rock with pop elements. The live rendition on such a prominent platform helped to strengthen their presence in the alternative rock scene. Interestingly, this album would become their last with singer Natalie Merchant before she embarked on a successful solo career soon after, making this period a pivotal turning point for the group.
