10000 Maniacs

In July 1986, 10,000 Maniacs performed at the Jamestown Community College as part of the Jamestown Centennial Celebration, just after the release of their album 'In My Tribe' in 1987. Although the studio album preceded the recording, this performance provided a platform for the band's emerging sound and growing popularity. Notably, 'In My Tribe' would go on to become a significant milestone in the band's career, blending alternative rock with folk influences. The live show featured raw energy and a passionate delivery that resonated with fans, showcasing the band's connection to their roots, as Jamestown is also the hometown of lead vocalist Natalie Merchant. The broadcast on local cable allowed fans to experience their dynamic stage presence, adding to their burgeoning reputation in the 80s music scene.
