Soul Asylum

In March 1993, Soul Asylum was riding high on the success of their album "Grave Dancers Union," which had been released just six months earlier in September 1992. This album catapulted them to mainstream fame, largely due to the hit single "Runaway Train," which would go on to win a Grammy Award and receive heavy rotation on radio and MTV. The performance of "Somebody To Shove" at the MTV Spring Break event showcased the band's energetic presence and growing popularity during this pivotal moment in their career. By this time, Soul Asylum had transitioned from their earlier work into a more accessible rock sound, affirming their status within the alternative rock scene of the early '90s. The Daytona Beach Festival performance exemplified their connection with the audience and their ability to deliver powerful live shows, further solidifying their reputation in the burgeoning alternative rock movement.
