In March 2013, Parquet Courts delivered a spirited live performance of "She's Rolling" at Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop during SXSW, just weeks after the release of their acclaimed album, 'Light Up Gold'. This recording captured the band at a pivotal moment, showcasing their blend of punk rock and art pop while they were still on the rise. 'Light Up Gold' had already begun to gain traction, earning praise for its clever lyrics and catchy riffs. Interestingly, both the album and this performance highlighted their DIY ethos, a hallmark of their style. Despite being a young band at the time, their energy and stage presence reflected confidence and a clear understanding of their place in the indie music scene.
