Lucy Dacus

As of February 1, 2024, when Lucy Dacus performed lead vocals on "Graceland Too" during a secret show with boygenius at The Smell in Los Angeles, she was riding the momentum of her acclaimed solo work as well as her collaborative efforts with the indie supergroup. Prior to this event, Dacus was part of boygenius alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, a project that gained significant attention and acclaim after the release of their self-titled EP in 2018 and their sophomore album, "The Record," launched in March 2023. Her unique songwriting style and emotional depth add a distinctive layer to their performances, making them a highlight in the indie music scene. The live recording at The Smell showcases Dacus's versatility as both an individual artist and a collaborative force, reaffirming her significance in contemporary music.
