Deerhunter

In June 2009, during the live performance at Primavera Sound, Deerhunter was riding the wave of their growing acclaim following the release of their third studio album, *Microcastle*, which came out in October 2008. The setlist from the performance highlights tracks from this album, showcasing songs like "Nothing Ever Happened" and "Microcastle," indicating their significant role in the band's evolving sound. At this point in their career, Deerhunter was beginning to cement their status in the indie rock scene, blending elements of shoegaze and experimental sounds. Notably, the band had also released the album *Weird Era Cont.* in 2009, a companion piece to *Microcastle*, featuring additional material that had been recorded during the same sessions. The performance in Barcelona reflected not only their artistic growth but also the enthusiastic reception of their work, indicative of Deerhunter's positioning within the indie music landscape at that time.
