When Pavement took the stage at The Eastern in Atlanta on October 9, 2022, they were riding the wave of a major reunion that had started back in 2021. The band, known for their unique blend of indie rock and lo-fi aesthetics, had just released the album 'Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal' in 2022, which featured previously unreleased tracks from the 'Terror Twilight' sessions. This was an exciting time in Pavement's history as they rekindled their chemistry and shared new music with long-time fans. Interestingly, this live recording also showcased their penchant for improvisation and playfulness, characteristics that have defined their sound since the '90s. Plus, playing two back-to-back nights with opener Piranha Rama made this event even more special, creating a nostalgic vibe that celebrated both their past and present.
