Violent Femmes

In September 2013, Violent Femmes took to the stage at Central Park SummerStage, reigniting the energy of their early days with a performance of their song 'Nightmares.' At this point in their career, the band had already released their first studio album, 'Violent Femmes,' back in 1983, a gritty, raw collection that captured the essence of their unique sound. After a hiatus and several lineup changes, they returned to their roots through their live shows, which showcased a blend of nostalgia and fresh energy. Interestingly, by this time, the band was celebrating their legacy, and the live recording didn't just evoke memories; it also marked a resurgence of their fan base, eager to relive the magic of the past. It was a reminder that while time passes, some music remains timeless.
