Violent Femmes

On May 3, 2016, Violent Femmes delivered a passionate performance of "Country Death Song" at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona. By this time, the band was riding a wave of revitalization after reuniting in 2013, having released their first studio album in over 15 years, "We Can Do Anything," in 2016. This live recording reflects their solid return to the music scene, showcasing both their classic sound and newer material. It's interesting to note that "Country Death Song" originally hails from their second studio album, "Hallowed Ground." The mix of nostalgic vibes with their fresh energy makes this performance a brilliant bridge between their past and present, illustrating how they’ve retained their unique edge even after decades in the industry.
