Rilo Kiley

On September 17, 2007, Rilo Kiley performed at the Royal Oak Music Theatre, right around the time they were riding high on the success of their album "Under the Blacklight," which had been released just a month prior, in August. This album showcased a more polished pop sound, diverging from their indie rock roots, and it included hits like "The Moneymaker," making this live performance particularly exciting. Fans were eager to experience the band's evolution, marked by Jenny Lewis's soulful vocals and insightful lyrics that often touched on both personal and social themes. It’s interesting to note that this was one of their final tours as a cohesive unit, as they would later go on an indefinite hiatus, making this performance a bittersweet retrospective on their journey thus far.
