By this point in their career, the band was revisiting their classic tracks while also introducing newer material, blending nostalgic vibes with contemporary flair. The live performance of "Backwater" in Sacramento is a testament to their enduring energy and connection with fans. Interestingly, they’ve had a long history of experimentation and collaboration, evident in the eclectic opening setlist that includes a Johnny Cash cover. This blend of old and new, along with their commitment to live performances, truly highlights the Meat Puppets' unique space in the alternative rock landscape.
