Phish

In the summer of 2017, Phish was in the midst of their Baker's Dozen residency at Madison Square Garden, which took place across 13 nights featuring unique themes for each concert. Before this significant event, the band had released "Farms," an EP in 2016, showcasing their continued evolution and experimentation. The 2017 shows were celebrated not just for their musical performances but also for the fan experience, as each night included themed treats—such as the maple donuts given on this particular evening. Notably, the July 8 performance included the first live renditions of "O Canada" and "Maple Leaf Rag," hinting at the band’s penchant for blending familiar and obscure elements into their improvisational style.
