In August 2018, Phish was well into their career, having been active for over three decades since their formation in 1983. Prior to the live recording of "Runaway Jim" from the show on August 10, 2018, Phish released their 13th studio album, "Big Boat," in 2016. By this time, the band had evolved their sound and cemented their reputation for improvisational prowess and elaborate live performances. The show at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park featured a notable sequence, where "Runaway Jim" segued into "Run Like an Antelope" and back, showcasing their signature style of playful musical interconnections.
