On October 16, 2020, Trey Anastasio performed "Wolfman's Brother" at The Beacon Theatre during a special series of live streams known as "The Beacon Jams." This series unfolded during an unprecedented time, as live music venues were largely closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this performance, Phish had released their 2016 album "Big Boat," and during the intervening years, the band had remained active in various capacities, including the contributions of individual members to solo projects. Notably, this live recording also supported the Divided Sky Fund, dedicated to providing mental health and substance use treatment, showcasing Anastasio's commitment to community and social causes during this challenging period for the music industry. The Beacon Jams not only marked Anastasio's return to the stage but also highlighted the adaptability of artists in connecting with their audience amid restrictions on live performances.
