Phish

On May 17, 1992, Phish performed at Union College in Schenectady, NY, during a pivotal period in their career. The live recording of “Brother” captures the band at a time when they had recently released their third studio album, "Lawn Boy," in 1990, and were preparing to release their next album, "A Picture of Nectar," which came out in 1992, just a few months after this concert. This performance showcases their signature blend of improvisational rock and complex compositions, which were gaining them a dedicated fan base. Interestingly, during this era, Phish was also known for their extensive touring and diverse setlists, elements that would contribute to their reputation as a leading live act. The Schenectady show embodies the playful and experimental spirit that Phish was cultivating, elements that remain hallmarks of their performances to this day.
