In August 1996, during the performance at the Bizarre Festival in Köln, Rammstein was in the midst of their rise to prominence following the release of their second album, *Sehnsucht*, which came out in 1997. However, prior to this live recording, the band had already gained significant attention with their debut album, *Herzeleid*, released in 1995.
