In May 2011, when Umphrey's McGee performed at the Summer Camp Music Festival, they were riding high on the momentum from their studio album "Death by Stereo," which was released in 2009. This album represented a significant step in their evolution, showcasing a blend of progressive rock, jazz, and jam band influences that the band had become known for. Following this live performance, Umphrey’s McGee would release "Similar Skin" in 2014, which continued to push their musical boundaries.
