Umphrey's McGee Full Concert: Wappy Sprayberry & Them Changes at The Boulder Theater
In December 2024, Umphrey’s McGee was actively continuing to expand their musical repertoire and fan engagement through live performances. Leading up to the New Year’s Eve recording at The Boulder Theater, the band had recently released "You Walked Up Shaking in Your Boots but I Scared You," their eleventh studio album, in 2022. This album showcased their evolution into a more experimental sound, blending rock with progressive and improvisational elements, setting the stage for their dynamic live shows. At the NYE performance, the band not only played the fan-favorite "Wappy Sprayberry" but also introduced their debut of Buddy Miles’ "Them Changes," featuring both trumpet and saxophone, which highlighted their commitment to collaboration and musical exploration. The live recording exemplified their vibrant energy and versatility, drawing on various genres to create a unique experience for the audience.
