Bright Eyes

In March 2019, Bright Eyes' frontman Conor Oberst was riding a wave of creativity and collaboration. Just before that live performance of "Easy/Lucky/Free," Bright Eyes had released *Every Day and Every Night*, which showcased a more mature sound and engaging lyrical depth, capturing the essence of Oberst's introspective style. Interestingly, during this time, Oberst was also involved in the side project Better Oblivion Community Center with Phoebe Bridgers. This dynamic duo offered a fresh take on their sound, melding indie rock with emotional storytelling—something Oberst has always excelled at. The KEXP performance marked not just a nostalgic trip for fans but also underscored how Oberst’s artistry has evolved while still paying homage to his roots.
