Okkervil River

In September 2010, Okkervil River was riding the wave of their fifth studio album, "I Am Very Far," which had been released just a few months earlier that May. This period marked a significant evolution for the band, showcasing their expansive sound and deepening lyrical maturity as they experimented with new sonic textures. The live recording of "I Walked With A Zombie" alongside rock legend Roky Erickson at the Krannert Center surely highlighted this artistic growth. It's interesting to note that Erickson, a major influence on many contemporary artists, brought a unique energy to the performance, blending his psych-rock roots with Okkervil's indie sensibilities.
