Okkervil River

In July 2016, Okkervil River took the stage at WFUV Studio A to perform 'Okkervil River R.I.P.', a powerful track from their album 'Away', which had been released the previous year. At this point in their career, the band was reflecting on their evolution and experimenting with new sounds, blending elements of indie rock and folk. The performance itself is both intimate and emotionally charged, showcasing frontman Will Sheff's poignant lyricism and rich storytelling. Interestingly, 'Away' marks a departure from their earlier, more traditional sound, embracing a more experimental and atmospheric approach.
