In June 1981, during the "Moving Pictures" tour, Rush delivered a mesmerizing performance at the Anaheim Convention Center, later immortalized in their live album "Exit... Stage Left." This album followed their landmark studio project "Moving Pictures," which had been released just a few months prior in February 1981. "Moving Pictures" not only solidified Rush's place as a titan of progressive rock but also featured classic tracks such as "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight." Interestingly, by the time of this live recording, Rush had begun to enjoy mainstream success while maintaining their intricate sound. Neil Peart, known for his extraordinary drumming and poetic lyrics, was already a notable figure in the rock world, and his riveting solo during the show only intensified the crowd's enthusiasm. This concert highlights a pivotal moment in Rush's career, blending technical prowess and emotional depth that defines much of their work.
