Rush

Rush was riding a wave of both creative and commercial success in 1983, a pivotal year that saw the release of their album *Grace Under Pressure*. Just prior to this live recording at Radio City Music Hall, they had released *Signals* in 1982, which marked a new phase in their sound, incorporating more synthesizers and a more accessible rock style. Interestingly, *Grace Under Pressure*, which came out in 1984, tackled themes of isolation and anxiety, reflective of the times, and “Red Sector A” was inspired by the Holocaust, which gave it a poignant depth. The performance captured during that September night encapsulated Rush's blazing live energy and their ability to blend complex themes with rock music. This particular recording also serves as a glimpse into their experimental phase, showcasing how they embraced technology in their music without losing the heart and soul that fans adored.
