Renaissance

In May 1975, Renaissance was riding a wonderful wave of creativity. Their studio album 'Turn of the Cards' had been released the previous year and was gaining traction for its lush orchestration and poetic lyrics, showcasing the band’s signature blend of rock and classical influences. By the time of their live recording of 'Ashes Are Burning,' the group was already solidifying their reputation as a formidable presence in the progressive rock scene. Interestingly, this performance highlighted Annie Haslam's soaring vocals and Michael Dunford's distinctive guitar work, both crucial elements that propelled the band forward. Although live recordings often aim to capture the energy of a moment, this particular rendition allowed fans to experience the haunting beauty of their music in a raw, emotional form.
