The Smashing Pumpkins

In December 1991, when The Smashing Pumpkins performed at the Hollywood Theatre in Norman, Oklahoma, they were riding the wave of their debut album, *Gish*, which had been released just months earlier in May. Interestingly, *Gish* was produced by the legendary Butch Vig, who would later gain widespread fame for his work on Nirvana's *Nevermind*.
